Pastors Joe and Nancy DePasquale
Both originally from Rochester, NY, Joe and Nancy met while working for the Eastman Kodak company. Married in September of 1979, they moved to Michigan in 1984 after God told them to sell everything and move. Joe became the Assistant Pastor at Mt. Zion Christian Church and Principal of Mt. Zion Christian School in Mt. Clemens. After almost 18 years, God moved them on to start a home church. In the summer of 2001, and in the basement of their home, King’s Gate Christian Church was born.
The church has grown and changed since that summer. After spending a few years meeting in a beautiful, but temporary, hotel conference room, The church purchased 3 storefronts, which has since expanded to 4 storefronts, in Chesterfield, Michigan. In 2008, the name was changed to Gateway Church. Through it all, Joe and Nancy have faithfully served the call of God and the many people that God has placed in their life.
Joe and Nancy have been married for 34 years and have 4 kids (Catherine, Linda, John, and Rachel) and 3 grandchildren (Hope, Maya, and Noelle). Joe also works as the high school and middle school Principal for Parkway Christian Schools. Nancy works for Macomb County government in the county courthouse. Their daughter, Catherine, and her husband, Chad, take care of the children’s ministry at the church and have three children of their own, Hope, Maya, and Noelle. Their second daughter, Linda, who just completed her masters degree from Johns Hopkins University, leads worship at weekly services and works with the kids of the church, making all kinds of fun arts and crafts. Their son John, who is recently engaged to his fiancée Tiffany, is the assistant worship pastor at Mount Hope Church in Lansing, MI. Rachel, their 3rd daughter, who has also recently finished her masters degree, works as an accountant for Chrysler and also helps teach Sunday School.
